Dr. Clark Testimonial
Dr. Joseph Y. Clark, Professor of Urology at Penn State Hershey, shares how JOMI’s high-quality surgical videos enhance education and training for residents and medical students. From improving surgical preparation to filling gaps in exposure to common procedures, Dr. Clark highlights the value of visual learning and the role JOMI plays in making surgeons feel like masters in the OR. Dr. Clark has already published two surgical cases with JOMI, Open Hydrocelectomy for Scrotal Hydrocele and Female Foley Catheter Placement Preoperatively, and has many more on the way!

I love JOMI. Man, these guys are great.
Studies show that more and more residents in training are looking to video journals to see how that surgery is performed instead of reading the textbook that describes the surgery so obviously, visuals on how that surgery is done with some narration is important. Our residents, again, typically prep for surgery that they have not done previously by watching some of these videos that are online. Some of the other staff have asked me, how do you do those hydrocelectomies? Because I seem to have low complication rates. There was a video made by JOMI on my adult hydrocelectomy and so now they can just look at that and say, that’s the way they’re going to be doing the hydrocelectomy.
Sometimes the residents aren’t exposed to relatively common procedures, sometimes at an academic center the residents aren’t exposed to the common types of surgeries that they’re actually going to be doing in the community. So I think these videos are a good reference for them.
Certainly our residents will benefit and our medical students because, again, they’re at least prepared for the surgery in, you know, any way they can assist the staff surgeon and the residents.
I love JOMI. Man, these guys are great. Man, those videos are good. They edit so well. They look like we’re master surgeons.
