CHAPTER 1
Hello, my name is Professor Roxanne West, and I'm a professor here at Kingsborough Community College, and today, I'm going to show you how I set up for a laparoscopic appendectomy.
CHAPTER 2
As you can see, my back table is already draped and set up. Before I place the tray on the table, my circulator and I both checked the sterile indicators to ensure that our tray was sterile.
CHAPTER 3
We have a basin set up with the surgeon gown and gloves, and we also have the patient drapes in the order that they will be placed, three-quarter drape, four stickies, and a laparoscopic drape.

CHAPTER 5
I'm gonna now set up my Mayo stand. On my Mayo stand, I have insufflation tubing, I have a light handle cover, I have a 10-millimeter, zero-degree scope. We would also have a five-millimeter, zero-degree scope, which is also doctor preference, but for filming purposes, we don't have that right now. We have our trocars, different sizes, and we also have, according to surgeon preference, a Veress needle. We also have an igloo for anti-fog, as well as Q-tips. We have the light cord that I'm going to place on the Mayo. Camera. And cautery. I will also place my Bovie. Metzenbaum scissor. And two Kochers. A tissue forcep with teeth. And an Adson with teeth. And also, I will place my S-retractors on my Mayo stand.
CHAPTER 6
I'm going to load my blades. I have two knife handles: a number three knife handle and a number seven. I'm going to use my needle holder to place my 15 blade on the number seven handle. My number 10 blade on a number three handle. I'm ready to gown the surgical team, my drapes are placed in the order they will be used, and I'm ready for the case to begin.
